Chevy reintroduced the Trailblazer in 2021 to meet the high demand for subcompact crossovers. The Trailblazer has proven its strong capabilities to compete in this market over the past four years. Its solid powertrain for day-to-day driving and spacious five-seater cabin make this vehicle an excellent choice for small families or commuters who need more space than what’s available in a sedan. Our Allen Turner Chevrolet of Auburn dealership Trailblazer experts took a closer look at the 2025 model to find out what you can look forward to in the latest edition of Chevy’s small SUV.
The 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer mostly maintains the same features that made the 2024 model popular. One significant change is that the base 1.2L engine can run on E85 fuel. You can also choose a new color option for the exterior: Marina Blue Metallic.
Chevrolet Trailblazer reviews from 2024 remarked on the exciting updates in that year’s model, which probably explains why Chevy has avoided making too many changes for this model year. The 2024 models gained fresh exterior features, including on the crossover’s front end. Chevy also added more standard infotainment features, helping drivers get more value for their money than earlier Trailblazer versions.
Chevrolet Trailblazer prices vary depending on the trim you choose. The starting Chevrolet Trailblazer price is $23,100 with the base LS trim. The other trims are the LT, Activ, and RS. The Activ and RS models share the top spot in the lineup, starting at $27,700.
The base LS trim keeps things simple with cloth upholstery and manually adjustable front seats. With a starting price of $24,300, the LT trim adds some convenience features, such as remote start and roof rails, giving you an extra storage option.
The Activ trim gets a more upscale feel with a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. It also gets synthetic leather upholstery and an upgraded suspension to cope with light off-roading. The RS has similar interior features but drops the off-road suspension in favor of a sports exhaust and 19-inch alloy wheels.
The base engine in the Trailblazer is a 1.2L turbocharged three-cylinder unit. It puts out 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque, which should be enough for most of your driving needs around the Auburn area. If you spend most of your time on the highway or want more power under the hood, the optional 1.3L three-cylinder engine is a better choice. This turbocharged unit, standard in the Activ and RS trims, generates 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque.
The most fuel-efficient engine option is the base 1.2L unit in front-wheel drive (FWD). However, the larger engine in FWD is better for highway driving. The 1.2L turbocharged engine manages 30 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, which are good numbers for a crossover.
Opting for FWD with the larger engine will get you 33 mpg on the highway and 29 mpg on city roads. With all-wheel drive (AWD), you’ll still achieve a solid 26 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. You may consider this a price worth paying for the added performance in difficult driving conditions that AWD brings.
The Trailblazer’s cabin can accommodate five people. Even though it’s a subcompact SUV, you’ll find enough legroom in both rows for adult passengers. If you’re on a tight budget, consider sticking to a basic cabin with cloth upholstery and a few frills. Otherwise, you can add some upgrades, such as faux leather and heated front seats, in one of the Trailblazer’s higher trims.
Behind the rear row, you’ll find just over 25 cubic feet of storage space. For bulkier items, such as household furniture, you can fold down the rear row to open up about 54 cubic feet of space. There’s a standard manual liftgate in the Trailblazer, but you can also add a hands-free power liftgate for easier access.
Another area where the Trailblazer stands out from competitors is its impressive 11-inch touch screen, a standard feature in all 2025 Trailblazer trims. You can also enjoy a six-speaker stereo, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and USB ports. As you move up the trim ladder, you can get an available seven-speaker stereo, automatic climate control, and wireless device charging.
Chevy equips the Trailblazer with plenty of features to help keep you safe. You’ll have standard forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and pedestrian detection. When you make it up to highway speed, lane departure warning and lane-keep assist will help you stay on the right track. The Buckle to Drive feature won’t let you set off without buckling up, and Teen Driver enables you to place limits on how learner drivers use your Trailblazer and its features.
Chevy offers a three-year or 36,000-mile factory warranty, which can cover the cost of work made necessary by faulty parts or poor quality. The Trailblazer’s powertrain, including the turbocharged engine, falls under a five-year or 60,000-mile warranty.
